How GratuityPro GCC Works

This calculator uses official labor law formulas from all six GCC countries to estimate your end-of-service gratuity. You provide your employment details, and the tool computes:

  • Total Service Duration: Years, months, and days worked based on your start and end dates.
  • Gratuity Days Entitlement: Calculated according to each country's specific labor law rules.
  • Estimated Payout: Your entitled gratuity amount in local currency based on your basic salary.
  • Special Adjustments: Caps, early resignation penalties, and termination differences are all considered.

Disclaimer: Results are estimates for informational purposes only. Actual gratuity may vary based on employment contracts, company policies, and legal interpretations. Always verify with your HR department or a legal professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Gratuity Questions Answered

UAE gratuity is calculated using your basic salary only. For the first 5 years of service, you receive 21 days of basic salary per year. After 5 years, you receive 30 days per year. The total is capped at 2 years of basic salary. Allowances such as housing and transport are not included.

Unlimited contracts are permanent employment with no fixed end date. Limited contracts have a specific duration. In most GCC countries, the contract type affects gratuity entitlement — especially if you resign before completing the contract term. UAE law provides full gratuity for unlimited contracts after 1 year, but limited contracts may have different rules.

It depends on your years of service. If you resign after 1 year but before 5 years, you receive one-third of the calculated gratuity. After 5 years, you receive full gratuity. If you are terminated by the employer, you generally receive full gratuity regardless of service length.

Gratuity across all GCC countries is calculated on basic salary only, excluding housing allowance, transport allowance, and other benefits. This is the standard defined by labor law in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

Your employer cannot arbitrarily reduce your legally entitled gratuity. However, the amount may be reduced if you have unpaid loans from the employer, outstanding notice period obligations, or if you resign before completing certain service periods. Gratuity is also subject to the 2-year salary cap.

Kuwait has two structures. Monthly-paid workers receive 15 days' salary per year for the first 5 years, then 1 month per year after 5 years (capped at 18 months). Daily or hourly workers receive 10 days per year for the first 5 years, then 15 days per year after 5 years (capped at 12 months).

Yes. In Saudi Arabia, if you resign before completing 2 years, you receive no gratuity. Between 2-5 years, you receive one-third. Between 5-10 years, you receive two-thirds. After 10 years, you receive full gratuity. This applies to resignations only — terminations by the employer entitle you to full gratuity.

GratuityPro GCC uses official labor law formulas from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. Results are estimates and should be verified with your HR department or a legal professional, as individual contracts may include additional terms or benefits beyond the statutory minimum.
